The fate of the maternity facilities at Eastbourne has yet to be decided. It is just as important that we in Hastings have a say. Please write in to the IRP saying that you believe BOTH hospitals should be consultant led. The main reason of course is Patient Safety, and how can it be safe for mums in labour from Eastbourne/Hailsham to have to travel the A259 (now designated as the ninth worst road in the country) to reach Hastings. Of course the same applies the other way round from Hastings/Camber to reach Eastbourne if the IRP decided to switch the Primary Care Trust decision the other way round, and this MUST be made quite clear.
