ABOUT FRIENDS OF
THE CONQUEST HOSPITAL
The Friends of the Conquest Hospital have been formed for the fifteen years since the completion of the hospital itself, and is affiliated to the National Association which this year has changed its name to Attend and whose Patron is now HRH The Duke Of York.
Its sole purpose is to work and raise funds for the benefit and comfort of patients in the community, and to support the provision of medical equipment required by the Trust, outside of their budget facilities, for the alleviation of pain and suffering. We rely on donations, covenants, subscriptions and legacies and the support of the public, each part of which is a critical aspect of funding.
At our Annual General Meeting in May we are pleased to announce our new Patron, baroness J. Fookes, and the official opening of the long-awaited Friends Office in a space provided by the Trust at the main entrance to the Hospital. The complete cost of the structural work and fittings were provided for free by a local business. The office gives The Friends the improved status that our President has constantly said would increase membership and volunteers. The position of the office makes easy for the public to become members of The Friends and to volunteer on any visit to the Hospital.
We are heading a Pressure Campaign with petitions, and with the support of our President and MP Michael Foster, against the proposed cuts and downgrading of the Conquest Hospital and are intending to hold a Public Meeting during the Summer which we hope you will all support.
We have launched this web site in support of this campaign, and hope you will keep visiting to keep up to date with developments and key events.
The Hospital Shop continues to provide an indispensable service to all users and staff of the Hospital and all profits are used for the comfort of patients. Sincere thanks must go to those part time volunteers without whom it could not operate.

2nd Wednesday of every month - Bingo Night at the Hospital Social Club at 8pm
1st Wednesday of every month - Coffee Morning at the Hospital Social Club from 10am
