12-Hour Vigil for Hands Off The Conquest 9th December 2006
The Conquest 12-hour Vigil, in conjunction with vigils across the country, proved to be a huge success. Support came from across the board, with attendees and supporters at Hastings representing Labour, Conservative, Liberal Democrat and Green parties.
We would like to thank all the people who took part in the vigil - we had attendees from across the area including Fairlight, Bexhill and Sedlescombe - and all those who showed their support for it. An estimated 20,000 people passing the vigil showed their support by flashing their lights or sounding their horns (thanks to Jim for the working out the figures).
